Welcome to our twentieth Neighbourhood Plan Newsletter and thank you to those of you who have attended our consultation days and recent Focus Groups.

***More Focus Groups to come***

As a reminder, we still have two more meetings in the next fortnight both of which are important. The first is this coming Tuesday, 3rd November when we are discussing objectives and policies for Bishop's Stortford South which is the area between Whittington Way and St James Way near Thorley Parish. East Herts Council has earmarked the land for development of either 750 homes plus a primary school and a secondary school, or 1000 homes and a primary school.  The site might also include a business area and community centre.  The Neighbourhood Plan cannot prevent development but people in the town can have a say on what the development should look like and any other infrastructure required.  Please come along to the meeting to find out more and comment on our objectives and draft policies.

On Tuesday, 10th November we are discussing Transport which was postponed from its earlier slot due to circumstances outside our control. The discussions will look at all aspects of transport including walking and cycling, and again we need you to comment on proposed policies and possible projects arising from the plan.

Both meetings start at 7pm and will be held at the Council Chamber on Windhill.

We are also consulting with people with disabilities and are planning a specific meeting in the next few weeks. If you know anyone who might be interested in attending, please ask them to contact the Town Council on 01279 715000.

***Next Stages***

Over the next few weeks, we will be amending the plan to take account of people's comments and will then publish the next stage of the plan on our website at www.stortfordplan.org so please have a look at all our policies and feel free to comment via the website or by writing or you can send us your comments via email to comments@stortfordplan.org

***Facebook and Twitter***

Remember, you can also follow our activities and comment via our pages on Facebook and Twitter - it's a useful way to stay in touch.

We look forward to hearing from you.
