Welcome to the twenty-first newsletter for the Bishop's Stortford Neighbourhood Plan  bringing you news on our progress on the plan for All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Parish.

***Pre-consultation draft of Neighbourhood Plan now available!***

We have just published a new version of the plan which is now available to download from www.stortfordplan.org or available to view at the Town Council Offices at Windhill. This is still not the final consultation version but we are keen to get as many comments as we can at this stage and suggestions for improvement. You can either comment on the plan using the Comments section on these pages or email us at comments@stortfordplan.org. We want the plan to be as robust as possible so please send us your feedback and please ask your friends and neighbours in Bishop's Stortford and Thorley to do likewise.

If you don't have the time to read the entire plan, there is an overview in the first section of the plan and, if you are interested in specific topics, you can refer to a table of policies in the index at the back.

The Plan includes chapters on the following themes:

  • Housing and Design
  • Green Infrastructure
  • Transport
  • Education
  • Health
  • Sports, Leisure and Community
  • Business and Employment

There are also policies applying to future developments proposed in the East Herts Council draft District Plan:

  • The Goods Yard
  • Bishop's Stortford South
  • The TBSHS site (in the event of a move)
  • East of Manor Links

Please remember that a Neighbourhood Plan cannot prevent development but it can help to shape it in the way the community wants. It can also help to ensure that the necessary infrastructure is provided in support of that development.
