Welcome to the fifteenth newsletter from the Bishop's Stortford Neighbourhood Plan Team.

***Neighbourhood Plan for Silverleys and Meads Wards passes independent examination***

Bishop's Stortford Town Council is delighted to announce that the first Neighbourhood Plan has been recommended to go to referendum by independent examiner, Richard High, subject to some minor changes. The referendum will take place in Spring 2015 subject to confirmation by East Herts Council. People living in the two wards will be entitled to vote at referendum and if agreed, the plan will become part of the local development plan and used to consider future planning applications in the area. Richard High's full report can be read or downloaded from the BSTC website or www.stortfordplan.org.

***Have your say on the future of Bishop's Stortford - complete our questionnaire today!***

It's still not too late to complete our questionnaire if you do so online at www.stortfordplan.org and we have already received over 1,300 responses. The questionnaire is anonymous, there is the opportunity to make comments and we will be publishing its findings on our website once the results have been analysed. It's important that we get as many people to complete the questionnaire as possible and we need as many young people as possible to complete it - after all, it's all about planning for their future! So please ask your friends and family members who live, work or shop in Bishop's Stortford to do so as soon as possible.

***Second Neighbourhood Plan for All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Parish now underway***

The Neighbourhood Plan team is now working on the second plan for the rest of the town and is in the process of looking at objectives. Obviously, some of these will be similar to the plan for Silverleys and Meads but there will be some issues and objectives that are specific to the Neighbourhood Area. The team is planning to hold a series of Focus Groups on various aspects of the plan during January and February and everyone is invited to attend. We will let you know dates of these once they are confirmed.
